Cynthia McKinney Bikes for Peace, Speaks with Through the Eyes of Women, Monday, July 12

Cynthia McKinney, six-term Member of Congress and 2008 Green Party presidential nominee, rides from Oakland, CA, to Washington, DC,  to demonstrate the transformational power of bicycling and its potential to alleviate climate change, oil wars, the health crisis, and current global economic crunch. The ride kicks off at the House of Common Sense in Oakland, 1193 Pine Street at 7:00 AM on July 24th. McKinney and a host of riders will travel to Sacramento on the first day.

Along the way, riders will hold community discussions around the question “How can we support each other to live true to our best values?”

McKinney’s route, schedule, and discussion group are open to anybody with a free Google account.

If you would wish to cycle all or part of the route, plan a convergence ride, or host riders passing through your community, please e-mail bike4peace@googlegroups.com.
